Hubbell Acquires PCORE Electric

Hubbell Incorporated (NYSE:  HUBA, HUBB) today announced the acquisition of closely-held PCORE Electric Company, Inc.  Financial terms were not disclosed.

Based in LeRoy, New York, PCORE is the leading independent manufacturer of high voltage condenser bushings.  These products are used in the electric utility infrastructure to provide safe passage of electricity into and out of transformers.  PCORE products cover applications from 15,000 to 500,000 volts.

ORANGE, CT. (May 15, 2006) -- Hubbell Incorporated (NYSE:  HUBA, HUBB) today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire privately-held Strongwell Lenoir City, Inc. The transaction is expected to be completed in the second quarter. Financial terms were not disclosed. Hubbell Power Systems has revised the design of the 15kV 200A loadbreak insulating cap. The updated design meets all requirements of IEEE Std. 386 and has the following benefits:

• Smaller and lighter - consistant with products being offered by others
• Manufactured from 100% peroxide-cured insulating and semi-conductive EPDM compounds
• An insulating cuff is standard
• Available with an optional conductive cuff

Product Update of 15kV 200Amp Loadbreak Feed-Thrus

Hubbell Power Systems revised the design of the 15kV 200A loadbreak junctions earlier this year. Part of that project included updating the feed-thrus. The internal loadbreak components were not changed or modified. The change simply affected the physical height, which was reduced with the elimination of excessive rubber.

Digital Phasing Testers for Transmission Circuits

To easily determine phase relationships, these Chance Phasing Testers read approximate voltage (line-to-line or line-to-ground) on transmission circuits. The testers consist of two high-impedance components encapsulated in fiberglass poles, each with an end fitting threaded for interchangeable hook probes.
